Information and purposes
When you order or contact us, information can include your name, email, billing and delivery details, order details and messages. Shopify and payment providers process checkout and payment information. Website services can process device, browser, connection and usage information.
We use order and contact information to fulfil purchases and respond to requests, because it is necessary to perform our contract with you or to take steps you request before we enter into a contract. We keep information needed for legal record-keeping under legal obligations. For security, resolving complaints and protecting the business, we may rely on legitimate interests, considering your interests and rights. Optional email marketing relies on your consent.
Service providers
Our store uses Shopify. Order information required to produce and deliver goods is shared with Inkthreadable and the relevant delivery carrier. Payment services receive information needed to process transactions. Royal Tan uses Google Workspace for business communications. Shopify may use information about your interactions with our store, other merchants and Shopify to provide and improve Shopify's services, including enhanced features such as personalised advertising. Shopify is responsible for that processing and for requests about it. See Shopify's Consumer Privacy Policy and Privacy Portal.
Email updates
If you subscribe, we may send updates about new designs, launches and occasional offers. Subscribing is optional. You can unsubscribe using the link in each marketing email or email hello@theroyaltan.co.uk. Withdrawing marketing consent does not stop necessary communications about an order.
Retention and international processing
We keep information for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, including completing orders, handling returns or disputes, satisfying legal record-keeping requirements and maintaining marketing preferences. We then delete or anonymise it where appropriate. Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers. You can contact us for further information about those safeguards.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal information. You can object to direct marketing at any time and may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
